In the end of my days, when all my knowledge fades,
and I've exhausted all my strength, and life is on the wane.
I will be content, though the world may change,
because through all of these things, love will remain.
Only love remains, and it is kind and it is good.
Only love remains, always patient and never rude.
And in the end, when all our words are gone;
only love remains, only love remains.
If I could speak in any language, in heaven or on earth,
but didn't have love for others, my words would have no worth!
Like every child that's grown, I've put away my childish ways,
though only I see dimly now, my hope is based on faith.
My heart will always be at peace, no matter the time or place,
I will endure through all that life brings, 'cause love will remain.
Only love remains, and never loses faith.
Only love remains, enduring every trial.
And in the end, when all our time is gone;
only love remains, only love remains.
And if I knew all the mysteries, and could see what is to come,
but didn’t have love for others, my gifts would serve no one!
Only love remains, it has no memory of any wrong.
Only love remains, it’s not jealous and it’s not proud.
And in the end, when all our life is gone;
only love remains, only love remains.
