How do we begin to see the truth about our selfishness?
Why do we always seek to find the faults in our neighbor’s ways?
Are we really hoping to save them from their sin?
Or are we only seeking the ways we might condemn?
God knows the trap we’re in,
He’s shown us the way to win.
He calls us all to love the sinner… but to hate the sin!
Hate the sin…
Before Him some will come seeking mercy by His Grace.
Willing to change their ways humble and longing to obey.
Others come just hoping to hear that they are saved.
Only wanting to bend His Word to suit their ways.
This is not an earthly trial we’re in,
it’s His verdict that we have to win!
For He will always, love the sinner... but will hate the sin!
Hate the sin…
And though we are sinners all, you know He loves us still.
To love each other with our faults, we know it is His will.
But we must never rationalize or falsely justify.
For even sinful thoughts are real, in His eyes.
Your choices are all known to Him,
yet His love you cannot lose or win.
So you must surely, love the sinner… while you hate the sin!
Hate the sin! Hate the sin!
Hate the sin… but do we love the sinner?
Hate the sin… but, He loves the sinner. And we love Him.
For we are the sinners, yes we’ve all sinned.
