Son of Man

by Cecil Billingsley & Jeff Joslin

Luke 9:58

He sent His only son to live, and die, for us.
Washed away our sins with the blood He shed.
Saved all the sinners that accepted Him.
Turned the water into wine,
When the couple was wed, when the couple was wed.

But the Son of Man had no place to rest His head.

He took a crowd into the desert to hear His words.
Fed five thousand with some fish and bread.
Calmed the storm with a wave of His hand.
Healed the sick, and raised the dead,
Chased the demons, out of their heads.

But the Son of Man had no place to rest His head.

Preached and healed when He was called.
Minds of the Pharisees were filled with dread.
Taught the disciples the meaning of love.
Shared the wine, and broke the bread!

Still the Son of Man had no place, to rest His head.

They put Him in a tomb and they left Him there for dead.
But three days later He could not be found.
Up in the clouds He went above their heads.
Came back down to remove all doubt,
Told them spread the news, then He sent them out.

Now the Son of Man had no need to rest His head.

For the Son of Man has the crown upon His head!

For eternal life our souls He saves.
The truth of God, in all He said.
For eternal life our souls He saves.
The truth of God, in all He did.
For eternal life our souls He saves.
The truth of God, in how He lived.

The truth of God, in how He lived!
