The Light

by Cecil Billingsley & Jeff Joslin

1 John 3:11-24

I thought I saw somebody kneeling.
I thought I saw somebody healing.
I thought I saw somebody preaching.
I thought I saw somebody teaching.
I told the world what I thought I had seen.
They turned away and didn’t listen to me.
They told me "Man, you can’t be right.
It must have been, it must have been the light!"

I thought I saw somebody thirsty.
I thought I saw somebody hungry.
I thought I saw somebody crying.
I thought I saw somebody dying.
I told my friends what I thought I had seen,
But they just laughed and didn’t listen to me.
They told me, "Man, you can’t be right.
It must have been, it must have been the light!"

I felt His presence all around me.
He told me "Action speaks the truth.
This is how you know what love means,
My Son laid down His life for you.
So when you see your needy brother,
share the wealth I’ve given you.
Words won’t help you love one another,
to cherish each other the way that I do,
to cherish each other the way that I do,
to cherish each other the way that I do.
For I Am, I Am, the Light!"

I know I saw somebody thirsty.
I know I saw, somebody hungry.
I know I saw somebody crying.
I know I saw somebody dying.
I’ll tell everybody all that I’ve seen.
I hope they’ll stop and take a listen to me.
I’ll tell them all ‘cause I know that I’m right.
I know I saw, I know I saw the Light!

I know I saw, I know I saw the Light!
It had to be, it had to be the Light!
It must have been, it must have been the Light!
